Choose the right route
The project route determines what the main work surface means and which tools are relevant. It is not just a visual label. Choose according to the artifact you intend to deliver.
Web application
Use Web for a website or browser application. Its workbench can include application preview, app testing, runtime and terminal tools, source review, Git, data services, integrations, and web publication. Exact capabilities depend on project state, role, and enabled services. A published Web deployment is managed separately from its editable source and checkpoints.
Native application
Use Native for an iOS/Android-oriented app project. The project can provide a device-sized preview and native-specific runtime/build flows. This route does not use the Web hosting publication workflow. Building, signing, beta distribution, or store submission can require Apple/Google developer accounts, certificates, and provider authorization; BuildWhat cannot complete those external requirements on your behalf.
Prototype design
Use Prototype design when the deliverable is a design artifact on an editable canvas, not a website preview. Arrange multiple desktop, tablet, and mobile pages on the canvas, edit layers and visual properties, and preserve the prototype as a design project. The design route does not expose Web publication or Web app testing as if a prototype were a deployed application. If the prototype contains code, a code tool may appear; otherwise it stays design-focused.
General-purpose projects
Some existing projects use the general creation mode. They are hosted on the Web route and can progressively use Web-compatible preview, testing, data, integration, and publication capabilities when configured. They are not native apps and should not be used as a substitute for a Native project.
Moving between routes
Routes are intentionally distinct. Do not assume that changing a label converts source, data, deployment, or store configuration. When a different deliverable is required, create or import a project for that route and explicitly choose what source or design material should be carried forward. Check the import or conversion review before confirming any operation.
